Endocrine Disruptor Webinar Invitation

Bergeson & Campbell, P.C.

Monday, December 20, 2010 1:30 p.m. – 3:30 p.m. (EST)

Bergeson & Campbell, P.C. (B&C) is hosting a free webinar on endocrine disruptors on December 20, 2010. This webinar will provide an introduction to the issues associated with endocrine disruptors and testing strategies under the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency’s (EPA) Endocrine Disruptor Screening Program (EDSP), while focusing on recent EPA developments that expand the regulatory scope beyond pesticide ingredients to include various industrial chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and other chemicals found in drinking water. Key developments include EPA’s issuance of the second list of chemicals for Tier 1 EDSP testing and the proposed Policies and Procedures that EPA plans to apply in requiring testing of “second list” chemicals via order authority. The webinar will also discuss the draft “Weight-of-Evidence” guidance document that EPA has used, and plans to use, in assessing the adequacy of existing test data in otherwise meeting EDSP testing requirements.

Review of the list of chemicals and the draft guidance documents reveals a range of critically important legal, regulatory, policy, and science issues that chemical manufacturers, importers, and processors should understand and on which comment to EPA is essential.

Further, recipients of the second round of EDSP orders have even more to consider in responding to the orders. Lessons learned from the first list of chemicals selected for Tier 1 screening, including EPA’s response to other scientifically relevant information (OSRI), the scope of testing orders, and the broad range of Toxic Substances Control Act chemicals and Federal Insecticide, Fungicide, and Rodenticide Act active and inert ingredients included within the scope of the second list of chemicals telegraph important information on key science, policy, and legal issues that testing order recipients and others implicated in the EDSP need to know and understand to respond effectively and plan their endocrine response strategies appropriately.

Webinar speakers include:

James C. Lamb, Ph.D., DABT, Principal Scientist and Center Director, Exponent
James V. Aidala, Senior Government Consultant, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C.
Charles M. Auer, President, Charles Auer & Associates, LLC, affiliated with Bergeson & Campbell, P.C.
Lynn L. Bergeson, Bergeson & Campbell, P.C., will moderate the discussion.
